. ..The begining How many of us out there wish to turn back time and enjoy the past of our youth. For us "Baby Boomers" one of the joys of our lives was the participation and involvement of the BOULDER SPEEDWAY In the goldfields, cars and parts were plentiful, sponsors plentiful and fun was the necessity of life.
Most of us made good friends, enjoyed the comradeship from fellow speedway buffs, learnt that chicks digged a hero and a winner, where some of us also won one, got married, had kids, moved on with life, left town and lost that mateship that evolved over those good years. Some of us never reached dizzy heights of winning or hitting the oval but always wanted to reminisce.
I am one of such listed in the latter.

Through Political interference and over time, we have, along with WA, have lost our motoring heritage. This includes most of the country speedways such FORRESTFIELD,BIBRA LAKE, SOUTHERN CROSS, MERRIDIN, BRIDGETOWN, NANNUP etc, Loss of "Through the streets", Hill Climbs" or Flying 50's as they were called with the likes of CAVERSHAM, CUNDININ, ALBANY
and soon YORK.

The closures of motoring Museums' around this state is also a sore point to the motoring fraternity
Project SPEEDWAY will hopefully restore at least a part of the motoring history of the BOULDER SPEEDWAY. These vehicles (pending the success of the first vehicle) be a going concern but will not race. I shall point out the vehicle will be capable of doing so.
Restoration will include correct specs for roll cage (maybe not the 3" water pipes) and where possible follow the photos accumulated from the Historic collection to date as a guide. .
...Rust... Although "PROJECT SPEEDWAY" is in its infancy, if you have photos that may assist in the final livery of colours for the end product, feel free to drop us a line or post your photos on the website. Any engineering, mechanical or other helpful tips also appreciated greatly that may assist. Vehicle is located at Kellerberrin.
